Always Tacos! Even Shrimp!

Saturday, December 10, 2016

I recently shared a picture on FB and IG of my lunch on a cold dreary day... shrimp tacos.  I had numerous comments, private messages and even emails asking if I would share my recipe.  I don't really have a recipe.  This is one of those things that many  years ago on the quest to make the "perfect" shrimp taco I came up with this.  It has been a hit in my family ever since.   So, today because it sounded good, I made more shrimp tacos and here's my little tutorial for you!

December Monthly Moos {Winter Walking!}

Thursday, December 1, 2016

It's been called to my attention that I am WAY behind on my Monthly Moos posts!  Honestly, it is kind of hard to write about the happenings on the farm when nothing very exciting happens!!!

Gifting Home-Made!

Saturday, November 19, 2016

I think I have realized something about myself and that is that I love to sew and I love to create and gifting home-made sewn items is my favorite thing to do.

What Our Flower Farm Means To Me

Saturday, September 17, 2016

All summer I've been wanting to write a blog post about the flower farming business that my daughter and I have.  Every time I think about it, this thought comes to my mind:  "How would I describe why our flower business is so special to us"? And the words just evade me.

A Little Change-Up In My Sewing Room!

Saturday, September 10, 2016

I've finally done some fun re-doing in the end of our upstairs "Barn Room" where I have my sewing and creating area.  It is a really large area with a long wall on the end.

Rosetta Turns Five {Edward And Elizabeth Get Bunk Beds!}

Saturday, July 9, 2016

My  littlest grand-daughter, Rosetta, turned five.  I can hardly believe how quickly the years have flown.  She is such a special little strawberry blonde headed little girl and reminds a lot of people of me when I was little.   It warms my heart every time I hear it!

Quick Sewing Therapy!

Monday, June 6, 2016

As you can tell from the fact that I've let weeks go without blogging, summer arrived and the gardening and flower farming began!!!  I do have a whole lot to share with you on the goings-on here on the farm (Monthly Moos post coming up in a day or so I promise!) but today I'm going to share my new favorite project book!  It is called A Spoonful Of Sugar by Lisa Cox.  You can order it here.   I've read Lisa's blog for years and I love her creativity!

Seriously Amazing Strawberry Scones

Friday, March 25, 2016

This week I made some strawberry scones and posted a picture on Facebook and Instagram and I received many comments and emails asking for the recipe.   So for all my wonderful readers, I decided to make the sacrifice and make more scones today...  you know, so I could take some pictures and write about them!

Certainly not because there were none left and I really wanted more!

March Monthly Moos {Lady Beetle Invasion}

Wednesday, March 23, 2016

Have you heard of the Asian Lady Beetle?

If you saw one you would call it a ladybug.  I mean they look like a ladybug.  But, they are not red, cute or sweet.  They are brownish-orange, ugly and quite horrible.  And you rarely see one, sweet little bug.  You see hundreds upon hundreds.

Springtime Fabric Colors!

Monday, March 21, 2016

I'm sort of crazy obsessed with fabric and lately I've noticed that I am just drawn to the happy Spring looking colors!

There Was Joy In Every Stitch

Monday, March 14, 2016

Some of you may remember the post I wrote about a year and a half ago about Baby Grant.   The precious little miracle baby born by adoption to my wonderful young friends, Dennis and Ashley.  (If you want to read it, you can find it here.)

Mason Jars By The Hundreds!

Friday, February 26, 2016

My daughter and I have started the preliminary plans for our 2016 flower farm.  We've purchased our seeds and began working out the details of another summer and what we want to change and improve.  Very soon it will be time to work the soil and get our seeds planted.

Secret Swap Part Two!

Friday, February 12, 2016

When I wrote Part One to this Secret Swap story I promised to come back and tell you what I received from my Secret Partner!  I'm so excited to share it with you.

Secret Swap - Part One!

Thursday, February 11, 2016

I follow numerous quilters and sewers (or it is seamstresses?) on Instagram and one thing I've been seeing is that between them they do a lot of swapping of gifts.  I am always so envious (yes, envious) of this and have thought how fun it would be to be a part of something like that - exchanging talent.  Since I am on a little private Facebook group of talented lady quilters I decided to put the idea to everyone about doing a secret swap.  There were 9 of us that wanted to participate, so I spent a little time putting together how I thought maybe it should work.

The Red Feedsack Booth!

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

This has been one of those months that I have felt like I had absolutely nothing to share with you.   I think sometimes I think my blog posts need to be about some profound thing... instead of just daily living!

Happy New Year.... And A Winner!

Friday, January 1, 2016

Happy New Year to all of you supportive readers of my blog.  Every now and then I think that I will shut it down... and then I write one more post and am inspired to keep writing and sharing.  Most of it is due to you.  So thank you!  I hope Twenty-Sixteen is a beautiful year for you.

And now....

... the winner of my hand-made potholders and dishcloth is...

(I've sent you an email, Raimie.  I hope the colors work for your kitchen!)

And thank you to everyone that entered my giveaway.  The response was so great... I wish I could send a hand-made package to every one of you!  We may just have to do another give-away soon!

The very best in the New Year to you my friends.
